What are cookies and local storage?

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser. Local storage and session storage are similar browser features that remember information on your device. We use these technologies only for the purposes described below.

We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, reCAPTCHA, advertising cookies or cross-site tracking technologies on these websites.

Strictly necessary storage

These technologies are needed for core website functions. They do not require consent under UK cookie rules.

Age confirmation (soho_age_ok)

On alcohol-related pages, we ask whether you are 18 or over. If you confirm, we store a simple “yes” value in local storage and in a root-scoped cookie named soho_age_ok for up to 12 months so the prompt is not shown on every visit. We do not collect your date of birth.

Session identifier (analytics pipeline)

When analytics is enabled with your consent, a random session identifier may be held in session storage for the current browser session to group page views. It is not used for advertising.

Cookie preference record

Consent choices (soho_cookie_consent_v1)

Category: Strictly necessary (records your choice).
Provider: Soho Global Trading / Soho Global Trading Ltd (first-party local storage).
Purpose: Remembers Accept all, Reject non-essential, or granular choices for analytics and external media, with policy version 2026-07-31.
Duration: Until you clear site data or change settings.

A separate first-party preference record may be written for compatibility. It does not enable advertising technologies.

Preferences / functionality

Language (soho-language)

Category: Preferences.
Provider: Soho Global Trading (first-party local storage).
Purpose: Remembers English or Simplified Chinese display preference.
Duration: Until cleared.

Analytics (optional)

First-party analytics is off by default and blocked until you allow the Analytics category. If allowed, a random session identifier may be held in session storage (soho_session_id) and limited conversion events may be queued locally (soho_conversion_events_v1) then sent to our Vercel endpoint and stored in Supabase for up to 13 months (395 days). Form contents and contact details are excluded. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, reCAPTCHA or advertising cookies.

External media (optional)

Google Maps embed

Category: External media.
Provider: Google.
Purpose: Interactive map on the alcohol contact section only after you click Allow map or enable External media.
Duration: Controlled by Google once loaded; withdrawing consent removes the iframe from the page.

Google Fonts (page load)

Our pages currently request typography from Google Fonts when they load. Your browser sends technical information (such as IP address and browser details) to Google to retrieve font files. This is disclosed here. Fonts are not self-hosted in this release; self-hosting remains a recommended future privacy hardening step.

Third-party services you choose to use

If you continue to WhatsApp from a Soho Global Trading page, WhatsApp/Meta may set or use its own cookies and storage under its own policies. That happens only after you choose to open WhatsApp and send a message.

Managing your choices

• Use cookie settings on any Soho Global Trading page to allow or decline analytics.
• Clear cookies and site data through your browser settings to reset age confirmation or analytics preferences.
• Block third-party cookies in your browser if you prefer; core Soho Global Trading pages should still work, although external embeds may not load.
